Hey Book Babe!
Hey Book Babe!
I'm Soleil, founder, book hoarder, and your personal hype-woman for all things literary.
Thrifted Shelf was born from a lifetime of reading, over a decade in corporate marketing, and one cosmic nudge from the universe. After years of chatting about books with my family and slowly losing my spark for the corporate grind, I found myself craving something real. Something people-first, not profit-first. Then, when my husband’s grandmother passed away, I inherited hundreds of books. It felt like the final sign — almost like the universe was saying, “Hey, how many hints do you need before you realize this is your purpose?”
So I registered the business, built the shelves (literal and metaphorical), and never looked back.
Our mission is simple: Get great stories into the hands of readers without money being a barrier. Read it, love it, pass it on. Why let a story gather dust when it could spark something in someone else?
If Thrifted Shelf were a person, she’d be the friend who invites you to a party where the pizza’s cold, the music’s questionable, but the vibes are immaculate. You’re laughing, swapping stories, and time just… disappears. That’s how I want you to feel when you visit our site, scroll our blog, listen to the podcast, or wander through our shelves — like you stopped by your best friend’s house and got caught up in a conversation you didn’t want to end.
I’ve always believed books are more than paper and ink — they’re company when you’re heartbroken, a time machine on a rainy day, a reason to miss an exit because you’re too caught up in the chapter. (Yes, I’ve done this. More than once.)
